Job Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating the academic support resources in regards to tutors and supplemental instruction as well as providing academic advising to first-year students.
Responsibilities
Advises students. (25%)
Provides academic advisement to students.
Creates and modifies schedules for incoming freshman.
Assists students with course selection, registration, and schedule revision.
Monitors and tracks advisee progress.
Maintains correspondence with advisees concerning appointments and other matters.
Refers students to campus and community resources.
Processes drop/add forms, withdrawal forms, registration, name changes, and changes in programs of study.
Develops and supports procedures for identifying at-risk students including monitoring early alert notifications in myGSW.
Assists students with changes in majors.
Work collaboratively with Admissions, Financial Aid, and other related to departments to provide holistic student advisement and support.
Collaborate with university constituent groups to advance Momentum Approach priorities.
Responsible for student retention through intentional outreach initiatives, intrusive advising, and academic partnerships.
Recruits, trains, and supervises student staff. (25%)
Recruits and hires student tutors and supplemental instructors.
Monitors and approves payroll for tutors and supplemental instructors.
Analyzes attendance, student performance, student survey, and faculty survey data for tutors and instructional leaders.
Creates and maintains work schedules for tutors and supplemental instructors.
Coordinates activities with faculty and other interested parties (15%)
Communicates with faculty regarding personnel needs and recommendations for courses and the supplemental instruction program.
Answers and resolves all tutoring and supplemental instruction requests.
Prepares a variety of reports and other materials. (15%)
Maintains online platform to provide data analysis on student usage, attendance, most frequently requested courses, updates to course lists, and user feedback related to academic support.
Creates, maintains, and communicates data from database for Athletic Department study halls.
Creates and maintains Georgia View training and certification materials for student tutors and supplemental instructors.
Creates re-testing materials and conducts remediation in conjunction with faculty.
Teaches assigned sections of the academic renewal course. (10%)
Performs a variety of related duties. (10%)
Including but not limited to new student orientation, STORM Day, registration days, and Parent/Family programs.
Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required. Master s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Knowledge of issues and trends related to adult learners.
Skill in decision making and problem solving.
Skill in the selection, training, and supervision of personnel.
Skill in the completion of a variety of reports.
Skill in oral and written communication.

Complexity/Scope of Work:
The work consists of varied administrative, supervisory, advising, and student support duties. The unique needs of each student contribute to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to coordinate academic resource activities. Success in this position contributes to successful provision of services to GSW students.
Guidelines:
Guidelines include FERPA regulations, NACADA best practices, GSW academic renewal policies, USG/GSW registration guidelines and timelines, Title IX regulations, ADA regulations, and other university and system policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.
Supervisory and Management Responsibility:
This position supervises the work of student workers.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
